The 2^nd IIC & 4^th ICOHELICS

Developments in Life & Health Sciences require scientific forums that can bridge research findings with clinical practice and public health policy needs. In this context, the committee plans to hold the 2nd IKAFARI (The Indonesian Society of Pharmacology) International Conference (IIC), integrated with the 4th International Conference on Health, Technology, and Life Sciences (ICOHELICS), as a forum for interdisciplinary and international scientific meetings.

Globally, the burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) remains a major challenge for health systems. The WHO states that NCDs (including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic lung disease) contribute to 74% of deaths worldwide, with a large proportion occurring in low- and middle-income countries. This situation underscores the urgency of strengthening clinical and pharmacological innovations and promotive-preventive strategies that can be implemented in practice.

Responding to the urgency of this issue, the theme of the event was formulated based on the relationship between SDGs and NCDs, with the main theme: “Advancing Clinical and Pharmacological Innovations to Achieve SDGs: Tackling Obesity, Metabolic Disorders, and Diabetes for Global Health Equity.” This theme is in line with the commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), including the target of reducing premature deaths from NCDs through prevention and treatment. Through a collaborative scientific approach, the conference is expected to be a means of consolidating ideas, exchanging knowledge, and mapping the needs of applied research to comprehensively address the challenges of obesity, metabolic disorders, and diabetes.
